Why People Remember the Stories of Jesus More than His Sermons

“By now, everybody knows me to be a storyteller. Our Daddy in heaven, Jesus, was the best storyteller you can ever find. I have discovered that some people remember the stories more than the sermons,” the author quotes Pastor Adeboye has explaining of his trademark style of exhorting people when he preaches.

“I tell you these stories because when you hear those in the Bible and hear those happening right now, you appreciate them better,” he explains at a different forum while on another occasion, he notes that: “When these stories or testimonies come to some people, they sometimes mean much more than even the sermon.”

Stories of miracles indeed enhance faith-building and what Daniels has done in this engrossing work of 350 pages and six sections is to painstakingly compile the testimonies of Daddy GO, the spiritual leader and chief missioner of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and present them chronologically, right from his birth to the present (February 2017), to read like an autobiography.

Given the magnitude of Pastor Adeboye’s task and the near impossibility of getting him to sit down for interviews for a real biography, the author’s approach is ingenious. And not only is it creative, it works because Pastor Adeboye narrates the testimonies in his measured, calm voice that reassures.

Testimonial Evangelism: Seeing is Believing

Testimonial Evangelism

What is testimonial evangelism?
It is the preaching of the gospel by facts of the evidence or proof of the experience of the presence of Almighty God JEHOVAH in your life.

John 4:48 "Unless you people see signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you will never believe."

If you have no testimonials of the Holy Spirit, you cannot convince unbelievers.
As our Lord and Messiah Jesus Christ said: Seeing is Believing.

You must show by example what Almighty God has done for you.

Your lifestyle must show your true essence of Christianity in character and faith no matter the challenges, difficulties, temptations and trials of foreseen and unforeseen circumstances of life.

I was a refugee child during one of the bloodiest uncivil wars in Africa.
My beloved mother had lost three of her six children and I was very ill. Neighbours told her that I would not survive. She was totally heart broken, but she did not give up her faith in Almighty God. She continued to cry and pray to Him. They thought I would die, but then the Holy Spirit came upon me and I started speaking in tongues. And I was healed. Almighty God JEHOVAH saved my life. That is why I can share this awesome testimony of His amazing grace and shout "HALLELUJAH!" today.

What's your own evidence of His existence and presence from your personal experience or an eye witness account?

Solemnity in Divinity as Pastor Adeboye Celebrates 75Th Birthday

Adeboye@75: silence on a loud day

~ by Bisi Daniels

It was Pastor E.A. Adeboye’s birthday and the 31st anniversary of the monthly Holy Ghost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God on March 2. The service is always heavily attended, a part reason for a 3-kilometre-by-3-kilometre auditorium called The Arena. But people who had taken a cue from the 75-hour non-stop praise of the Lord to expect fanfare and cake-cutting during the week arrived the Arena to the usual service, the birthday having been celebrated privately. Pastor Adeboye is not known to put himself in God’s way or share in God’s glory or time. In fact, preachers at the service on March 2, were youths from four zones of the church.

This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am Well Pleased; Hear Ye Him

"And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him. Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead."
(Matthew 17:1–9, KJV)
